Gemstones in Scripture – Spiritual Meaning & Biblical Symbolism

The image of beautiful, colorful gemstones in scripture also has a beautiful colorful meaning, showing you the all-transcending, inexhaustible love of God for you.
Gemstones are very precious and are not just lying on the surface of the earth.
They are deeply hidden in the earth and you have to dig deep to find them.
Gemstones in Scripture also tell you something about your insides.
They tell you of the splendor of your true identity.

Because man however often neither understands nor believes what God says, we take parts of Scripture and then create our own religion with it.

The same goes for gemstones.

In many Eastern religions, you see gemstones appearing in traditions and rituals.
However, these religions have not remained in the East, but have also crept into the West in the form of mindfulness, Zen meditation and yoga, for example.
An Eastern ritual that has become very popular, especially in recent years, is the awakening of the Kundalini energy.
Gemstones are also used in this ritual, but without understanding the significance of what they depict.

Although Kundalini is the name given to a particular energy, it is also referd to as the Kundalini spirit.
Put simply, a kundalini awakening is a form of energetic awakening that causes someone to transform on mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.
The words used in this spiritual experience often sound very biblical.
For example, they talk of spiritual growth and of the death of the ego.
Therefore, the demonic practices of the awakening of the Kundalini energy has already crept into certain Christian denominations.
In churches that have exchanged the Holy Spirit for the Kundalini spirit, often the words of Paul are quoted from Galatians 2:20:

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.

They are so blinded however that they do not realize that by doing so they are in fact feeding their own ego.
But not only does this feed the ego, it also feeds the serpent of Genesis 3, allowing it to grow into the dragon in Revelation 12.

Kundalini is a word from Sanskrit meaning “she who is coiled.”
It is said to refer to the original life force energy at the base of the spine, which is often depicted as a snake.
Once awakened, it is believed this snake energy travels up through the various energy centers of the body, called chakras, to your crown chakra, where a higher consciousness would be activated.
The result of this higher consciousness would then trigger a greater understanding of your soul, your true nature, your life purpose and the nature of reality itself.

Without going too much further into exactly what a Kundalini awakening entails, I would like to show you the bizarre difference between the Kundalini spirit and the Holy Spirit, taking us all the way back to the origin; the creation of man.

Genesis 1:26 + 2:7 (NKJV)
God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living being.

God breathed His Spirit into man.
This is the very life source of man.
God is Spirit (John 4:24 ) and He Himself breathed His Holy Spirit into us, which makes us in His image and after His likeness.

We see the perfect image of God in Jesus Christ, of whom God says:

Matthew 3:17 (NKJV)
This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased

In Jesus Christ we see the fullness of sonship.
In Jesus Christ we see what the image and likeness of God looks like.
In this we can see our true identity, for we are made in the image and likeness of God.
By looking to Jesus and learning from Him, we grow in sonship.

This sonship is so precious and beautiful in the eyes of God
that he uses gemstones throughout the Bible to describe it.

John tells us about someone he sees sitting on the throne in heaven and….

Revelation 4:3(NKJV)
The One seated there looked like jasper and sardius.

In this description of the person on the throne, we also find sonship.
Sardius and Jasper are the first and last stones in the high priest’s breastplate.
Each stone in that breastplate corresponds to the name of one of the sons of Jacob in order of age.
Sardius is the first stone in the breastplate and therefore the name of the first son of Jacob is engraved in that stone, which is Reuben.
Reuben means “behold, a son!
The jasper stone is the last stone in the breastplate and therefore engraved in it is the name of the last son, namely Benjamin.
Benjamin means “son of the right hand”.

In this we find the fullness of sonship, because in it we find Jesus Christ.

Revelation 22:13 (NKJV)
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.

Says Christ.

Jesus Christ is the first and the last; the Sardius and the Jasper; the Reuben and the Benjamin.
He is the Way that leads to the Father.
From “Reuben; the birth of sonship” to “Benjamin; the fullness of Christ on the throne at the right hand of the Father.

Thus, each stone in the breastplate of the high priest reveals an attribute of sonship.
It reveals something about who you really are.
That is what God wants to show us through the high priest’s breastplate.
This breastplate, covered with beautiful gemstones, is a natural object visible on the outside of the high priest.
God instructed Moses to dress the high priest in this specific way so that you can see this with your natural eyes, so that you can learn how God sees you and thus see who you really are.

You also see the same imagery reflected in the New Jerusalem.

Revelation 21:18-19 (NKJV)
The wall was made of jasper, and the city itself of pure gold, as pure as glass.
The foundations of the city walls were adorned with every kind of precious stone.

The new Jerusalem is a spiritual city that portrays the person who has found his or her identity fully in Christ.
This means that you then truly dare to believe what God says about you, which is that you are in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27 ), that you are His beloved son in whom He is well pleased (Ephesians 2:4-6 ), that all the fullness of God dwells in you.

Therefore, seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Where can you find His kingdom and His righteousness?
Inside you!

Everything you need has been given to you.
God has placed it within you.

The kingdom of God
is within you!

Luke 17:21

You are the righteousness of God
through Jesus Christ!

2 Corinthians 5:21

The source of life itself is within you,
because God lives in you!

2 Timothy 1:14

You are a temple of the Holy Spirit
dwelling within you!

1 Corinthians 6:19

A fountain of water, welling up to eternal life, is within you!

John 4:14

The light of life;
it is all ín you!

John 8:12

Therefore, do not seek it externally, but internally.
For CHRIST IN YOU is the hope of glory!

Colossians 1:27

Gemstones are very precious and are not on the surface of the earth.
They are deeply hidden in the earth and you have to dig deep to find them.
Likewise, then, gemstones in Scripture reveal something about your inner self.

They tell you of the splendor of your true identity, which is that you are a son of God and that all His attributes are in you.
That everything that is His has been given to you.

He has put it in you as an inheritance.

Ephesians 1:18

When you learn to see this, you will discover that you are clothed with precious stones not on the outside, but on the inside.
This is how God made us when He breathed Himself into us (Genesis 2:7 ).

Ezekiel 28:13 (BSB)
You were in Eden, the garden of God.
Every precious stone was your covering:
The sardius, topaz, and diamond,
Beryl, onyx, and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.

The life-giving spirit of God clothed us with all the stones of the breastplate; all the ingredients of sonship.
Not on the outside, however, but inside you.
That is how God made you and that is who you are.

But because most of us were raised in the teachings of Adam, and thus became in his image and after his likeness, we do not see ourselves as a perfect son of God. (Genesis 5:3 ).
We do not see that we are clothed with sonship, which is portrayed with the most beautiful gemstones.

Adam cannot teach you that either, because he himself did not see that after he and his wife ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 3:7 (NKJV)
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked
and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
.

Their eyes were no longer on God, but on themselves and all that is earthly.
As a result, they saw themselves naked and began to clothe their outsides.

The ritual to bring about a Kundalini awakening is completely after the teachings of Adam.
It is exactly the same thing Adam and Eve did.
In fact, a person undergoing a Kundalini activation process has to lie flat after which someone places gemstones on that person.
The person undergoing this is doing this because he does not know that he is already beautifully clothed with gemstones on the inside.
That person does not know that on the inside he is already completely clothed with the precious stones of sonship and therefore he sees himself naked and then he tries to clothe himself with precious stones.

The gemstones with which you are clothed within depict sonship.
They were put there by your Father, the Almighty creator of all that exists, on the day He made you.

When you eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, however, you no longer see it and think you are naked.

And God had also said::

Genesis 2:17 (BSB)
You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.

We were never meant to die.
God made us in His image. He clothed us with life.
But if we eat of knowledge that says that He didn’t and that we must do all kinds of things ourselves to achieve it, we see ourselves naked and we will surely die.

2 Corinthians 5:2-4 (NAS)
For indeed, in this tent (our body) we groan,
longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,
since in fact after putting it on, we will not be found naked.
For we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed,
so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.

John 11:25 (NAS)
Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life.
The one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies
and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.
Do you believe this?
